Level Up Michigan

Level Up Michigan! (LUM!) is a non-profit, non-partisan initiative outside of government created by Greater Detroit Regional Chamber CEO Sandy Baruah, Michigan Education Association President Chandra Madafferi, Talent First President Kevin Stotts, Michigan College Access Network Executive Director Ryan Fewins-Bliss and State Senator Sarah Anthony, and managed by Diploma Equity Project.

The Level Up Michigan! mission is two-fold:

1) Build a robust post-secondary culture in Michigan by creating a new conventional wisdom that “young people in Michigan today require education and skill beyond high school to earn good 21st century incomes and that affordable options exist for all families”; and

2) Boost post-secondary enrollment rates within six months of graduation from 53% for the Class of 2024 to 70% for the Class of 2029—making Michigan a regional leader in producing a skilled workforce.
